Marketing Executive

Job purpose:

This role is vital in delivering strong printed and digital content in the form of videos, photos, and other forms of content creation. You will work to engage with key stakeholders across the organisation to create engaging content to widen NRF’s reach. You will be the go-to for all marketing content with Adobe Suite skills and photography/videography.

The post holder will work to attract and engage existing and new audiences via our work, projects, campaigns, and events programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the marketing department;
  • To maximise Income Generation through marketing across different platforms;
  • To drive the performance of our social media channels forward and ensure that we are creating engaging and shareable content;
  • You will be one of NRF’s contacts for capturing photo and video opportunities;
  • To attend events/activities (this may take place on weekends and evenings) to gain content, including not limited to photos, filming, and content creation;
  • To support the Media team in creating social media assets, including but not limited to video, social media images, and graphics;

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in creating compelling digital and social media assets which drive engagement and amplify reach;
  • Excellent copywriting, influencing, and communication skills;

  • Good knowledge of the basics of taking pictures and videos;

Fundraising Manager

Location: Stanmore Office – London

Job purpose:

The Fundraising Manager will aim to increase the contributions of individuals and groups by building relationships and exploring new fundraising opportunities from events, campaigns and other sources. The role depends heavily on forging positive relationships with supporters of NRF.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the fundraising department;
  • To maximise Income Generation potential through fundraising activities across all income streams, including corporate giving, gift aid, events, community and support groups, major donors, legacy giving and trusts;
  • Develop a strategy that leads to increasing commitments from Major Donors;
  • Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising, including social media;
  • Research and write funding proposals and cases for support and adapt as needed;
  • To provide the highest standard of stewardship to existing donors and supporters to maximise income and ensure long-term funding relationships;
  • Inspire new supporters to raise money while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters;
  • Work with the Marketing team to produce materials for fundraising;

Executive Assistant

Location: Stanmore Office – London

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic support for the CEO
  • Manage correspondence between the CEO and external stakeholders, including categorising incoming mail and triaging or delegating to other team members where relevant.
  • Manage the CEO’s diary continuously to ensure it reflects current priorities and responds to emerging needs.
  • Preparing and managing the CEO’s meetings, taking minutes, and being in charge of the guests’ hospitality.
  • Manage the CEO’s logistics, including travel arrangements, venue booking and processing expenses.

Admin and Communications

Admin Officer

Operations Manager

Location: Stanmore Office – London

Job purpose:
The Operations Manager (OM) will oversee existing donor communications, programmes, and charity administrative operations. The OM ensures that donor and beneficiary records are accurate and current. The job holder will support the CEO and play a key role in liaising between the Head Office and the local branches/partners abroad. The OM will also need to ensure that staff reporting to him/her are adequately trained, monitored, and are performance reviewed on a frequent basis.

Scope of the role:

  • Reporting to the CEO, the OM will strengthen the organisation’s position, performance and standing through:
  • Assuming responsibility for the administration of the overseas programmes including the Orphan Sponsorship Programme.
  • Oversight editing and authorisation of orphans’ biodatas and progress reports.
  • Oversight of the administration of new sponsorships and donations via all income streams.
  • Work closely with the finance department to prepare project budget reports.
  • Collecting and reviewing end-of-project reports.
  • Verify with staff that sponsorship payments are up to date and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Oversight of handling of orphan-related enquiries and ensuring they are brought to conclusion.
  • Address donor, beneficiaries and overseas team concerns and complaints effectively and escalate to the CEO when required.

Events & Volunteers Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities

Events

  • Plan, support, and deliver events and activities organised directly by NRF and encourage participation in events organised externally.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all third-party event fundraisers and offer support where needed.
  • Maximise publicity on all fundraising activities.
  • Develop relationships with external partners and networks. Ensure that any new networks are identified to maximise fundraising opportunities, including proactively approaching groups and associations to fundraise for NRF and support them with their fundraising activities.
  • Support and maximise all third-party-led events and fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure the meticulous recording of all data relating to events.

Regional Representative (East Africa)

Location: Remotely – East Africa region
Hours: Full-time

Job purpose:

This role is key in representing NRF in the East Africa region (mainly: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Madagascar) and ensuring that NRF achieves their business plan objectives at a higher standard with their partners in the region.

Lead the NRF operations in East Africa and ensure that our partners in the area are delivering NRF programs in accordance with contractual obligations, client expectations and NRF standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Regional Programme Management:

  • Provide leadership and management oversight to designated NRF Country Programmes to ensure that operations are developed, planned, delivered and monitored in accordance with internal (policy and process) and external (statutory & contractual) obligations
  • Ensure that robust policies and procedures are in place to ensure the implementation of activities undertaken by country programmes
  • Conduct regular overseas support visits within the portfolio to support, troubleshoot, monitor and evaluate activities.

Project Management & Development:

  • Oversee non-programme-specific contractual relationships and project activities to ensure all activities are delivered in line with contract and NRF standards
  • Manage any non-technical regional staff to provide specific support to country programmes and sub-regional portfolios
  • Oversee the production of proposals and operational and financial reports related to non- programme specific projects in collaboration with the relevant senior managers and HQ staff
  • In conjunction with the HQ Business Development and Programmes Teams, identify and develop specific projects and activities within the region, including attending meetings, conducting assessments, providing representation, and supporting any initial response activities
  • Maintain strategic oversight and control of the regional budget for direct support costs
  • Build effective relationships and develop networks with all stakeholders in the region, including local and regional authorities, relevant military authorities, donors, partners etc.

  • Experience having developed successful relationships and negotiated with donors, government bodies, other NGOs or local partners
  • Strong people management experience with proven ability to lead, manage and inspire a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams, often remotely
  • Experience in ensuring contract and legal compliance with all project activities

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swahili with outstanding influencing and negotiating skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills with a proven track record in meeting targets and deadlines
  • Ability to support and manage teams at a distance
  • Strong writing skills and capability to quality review proposals, budgets, reports and other communications for donors and other stakeholders

Essential Aptitude:

  • Innovative, creative and proactive with an analytical and solution-oriented approach
  • Ability to think and act strategically to make difficult decisions and demonstrate excellent judgement
  • Determined and committed to high-quality standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure
  • Resilience and stamina to manage a varied and demanding workload with competing demands and priorities
  • Commitment to NRF’s strategic direction
  • Commitment to NRF’s core values and a good understanding of issues related to safeguarding
  • Ability to work diplomatically in a political environment
  • Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic approach to work with experience in finding pragmatic and positive outcomes to difficult situations
  • Willingness to travel worldwide at short notice and sometimes in difficult circumstances and for long periods of time.
